According to sources in the Philippines a double header for December 30th is being worked on that will feature two Japan Vs Philippines world title bouts.
The bouts would be a WBO/IBF Super Flyweight world title unification bout, between Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue (11-0, 9) [井上 尚弥], the current WBO champion, and newly crowned IBF kingpin Jerwin Ancajas (25-1-1, 16) and a WBO Bantamweight title fight between champion Marlon Tapales (29-2, 12) and Japanese hopeful Takuma Inoue (8-0, 2) [井上 拓真].
Sources have indicated that the Bantamweight title bout has been already been agreed and that the camps have sorted the contest between Tapales's team and Inoue's, with Tapales's manager Rex Salud being quoted as saying the the teams have "come to terms with Joe Koizumi", who has been negotiating on behalf of the Ohashi camp.
The other bout, the Super Flyweight unification, is said to involve a lot more negotiations but is thought to be the target of both teams, however several things will need to be sorted out before the bout is agreed, with Inoue's right hand certainly needing to be given time to heal before he return to the ring. He also, of course, will be in the US later this week in the hopes of starting negotiations with Roman Gonzalez, who fights on Saturday in a WBC title fight against Carlos Cuaadras.
