On Wednesday the Hiroki Ioka Gym announced the signing of two notable fighters, in an announcement that was considered to be rather out of left field.
The fighters in question were Japanese Light Middleweight champion Yuki Nonaka (27-8-3, 9) and Colombian Pablo Carrillo (17-4-1, 10), who is a former opponent of Hiroki's nephew Kazuto Ioka.
Not only were the two fighters announced as the newest members of the Hiroki Ioka gym but both also had their next bouts announced, which will both take place on December 27th.
For Nonaka his next bout will see him defending the Japanese title at 154lbs against former Welterweight title challenger Koshinmaru Saito (22-7-1, 12), who has come up short in 4 title bouts at 147lbs prior to this opportunity at 154lbs. On the very same card Carrillo will be facing limited Thai Jaipetch Chaiyonggym (5-4, 1) in a 10 rounder support bout.
Notably this same card will feature will feature a bout between Hiroyuki Hisataka (24-13-1, 10) and Mark John Yap (22-12, 10) in what should be a genuinely fantastic match up.
