In late July Japanese super prospect Hinata Maruta (2-0, 1) [丸田 陽七太] will fight for his first title, as he takes on unbeaten Filipino Wilbert Berondo (10-0, 4) for the WBC Youth Bantamweight title.
As preparation for the bout Maruta has been training with a number of top training partners, and today it was reported that he was had been sparring with former world title challenger Warlito Parrenas (24-7-1, 21).
Although Parrenas is a naturally smaller man he is a big puncher with top tier experience, including a world title challenger against Japanese star Naoya Inoue. That experience, and his power, saw him teach Maruta a few new things, and give him new looks though it was clearly another step in the development of the Japanese star.
Although the footage of the spar hasn't been made public it does seem that both men enjoyed the spar and both were pictured, after the spar, eating food and looking like good friends, as if both knew the session had helped both to round of their skills and improve.
