Earlier this week the WBO published a letter, dated March 19th, that had been sent to ALA Promotions and Ferobox regarding a WBO world title eliminator at Super Bantamweight.
The eliminator in question is set to see unbeaten Filipino fighter Genesis Servania (26-0, 11) battle against once beaten Hungarian Zsolt Bedak (24-1, 8) with the winner to become the WBO mandatory challenger for unbeaten Cuban star Guillermo Rigondeaux (15-0, 10).
The WBO currently have Servania ranked as their #1 contender with Bedak taking the #3 place.
The letter, as you can see, instructs the teams that they have 20 days to agree a deal for the fight or it will go to purse bids, that's if one of the teams doesn't call the purse bids early.
At the moment it gives the teams until early April to agree a deal for the fight.
The talks for this particular bout have been on going for a while. At one point it seemed likely the men were going to meet in January, for the interim title, before that fell apart. Hopefully this time around a deal can be made and the fight will go ahead. In boxing though things are never that simple.
