Earlier today fight fans in Ishikawa saw the unbeaten Genesis Servania (29-0, 12) claim the WBO Asia Pacific Featherweight title as he scored a 2nd round TKO win over fellow Filipino Ralph Jhon Lulu (12-2-2, 5).
The talented Servania found his range quickly and managed to avoid Lulu's return fire. It was clear from the very early stages that the two men were on very different levels, with Servania being several levels above Lulu.
In the second round Servania stepped up his work rate, landing combinations at will and dropping Lulu. The brave Lulu got back to his feet, but continued to be target practice for Servania until the referee stepped in and saved the over-matched man.
With the win Servania took a huge step towards getting a long awaited world title fight, but it does still seem like their will be a wait. Despite there being a wait it does look like the unbeaten man is targetting, long term, Oscar Valdez and the WBO Featherweight title.
