Sources in Thailand have informed us that IBF Flyweight champion Amnat Ruenroeng (17-0, 5) [อำนาจ รื่นเริง] will return to the ring on May 25th to take part in a rematch with Filipino fighter Johnriel Casimero (21-3, 13).
The men first met last year in a foul filled slopfest that saw Amnat using more dirty tricks than many of use even knew existed. Those dirty tricks, and the terrible officiating job by Larry Doggett, lead to Casimero's team complaining to the IBF who ordered the two men to compete in a rematch.
The bout, from what we understand, will take place in China and we suspect that Casimero's team will be campaigning to get a world class referee as the third man in the ring for the contest.
Notably China's Xiong Zhao Zhong (26-6-1, 14) [熊朝忠] was at the announcement of the Ruenroeng Vs Casimero rematch. He was there in two capacities. Firstly as a new IBF ambassador, and secondly to announce his own participation in the card, with his bout set to be an IBF Minimumweight world title eliminator. We have also learned that Zong Ju Cai (6-1, 1) [蔡宗菊] will be in an eliminator as well
