In 2014 we saw Japanese warrior Akira Yaegashi (22-5, 12) fall short in two major bouts, suffering stoppages to both Roman Gonzalez and Pedro Guevara. Now he's fighting for his career and on December 29th he's in a must win bout against IBF Light Flyweight champion Javier Mendoza (24-2-1, 19).
The bout, which is regarded as a potential late contender for the 2016 FOTY, is really a must win for the all-action Yaegashi who knows that this will be his final chance to become a 3-weight world champion.
Sadly for Yaegashi he is the under-dog for the bout with British bookie Paddy Power pricing the local fan favourite at 15/8 to win the bout whilst Mendoza, the favourite, is 2/5. The draw is priced at 18/1.
At the moment the only available markets are the "To Win" market though we are hoping that more markets will open up closer to the fight.
