Earlier today we were informed that WBC female Minimumweight champion Yuko Kuroki (14-4-1, 7) will return to the ring on December 20th to record the 3rd defense of her world title. The Japanese fighter, who won her title in May 2014, will be facing one of her stiffest tests in the form of Mexican former world champion Nancy Franco (14-6-2, 4).
Kuroki won her title when she took a narrow win over Mari Ando and has since recorded defenses against Katia Gutierrez and Masae Akitaya. Although a talented fighter she is still probably better known for her good looks than her fighting ability, which is criminally under-rated. Aged just 24 she is an improving fighter and appears to be really improving fight by fight as she develops her experience.
Franco, who gave up the IBF title to take part in this bout, is a 2-time world champion who is returning to Japan for the second time , following her Novemeber 2013 win over Kayoko Ebata. Although not a powerful fighter she is a talented one and holds wins over Ebata, Victoria Argueta and Ana Arrazala. She has gor several losses on her record but has mixed at a very high level, coming up short against the likes of Arely Mucino abd Ibeth Zamora Silva .
For fans wanting to attend, this bout will take place at the Kyuden Gym in Fukuoka City.
