Earlier today we were informed that Japanese Light Flyweight champion Yu Kimura (14-2-1, 2) would be making the second defence of his title on November 1st. Kimura, who won the title on February 1st with a split decision over Kenichi Horikawa, was last seen in the ring in June when he defeated Yuki Chinen in clear cut decision in the previous defence of his title.
In his second defence Kimura will be taking on #11 ranked Japanese challenger Atsushi Aburada (9-6, 5) who comes into the bout following back to back wins over Toshimasa Ouchi and Junya Nishikawa.
The bout will be held at the Korakuen Hall and will be Aburada's debut at the Japanese "holy land" of boxing amazingly however it will be the 18th straight contest for Kimura at the venue which has become his boxing home since his debut way back in 2006.
Although no other details of the show have been released we would expect to see this bout being the main event with only relatively low level support. This idea, presumably, would be for Kimura to win and then go in the hunt of world titles, afterall he is world ranked by several of the world title bodies including WBC, IBF and WBO.
