On November 28th Japanese fans will be able to tune in to a special day on WOWOW with the network allowing non-customers to watch the channel for free for a day. Among the things being shown is a Teiken promoted boxing card which will feature a couple of world title fights.
One oif those titles will see the popular Yu Kimura (17-2-1, 3) take on WBC Light Flyweight champion Pedro Guevara (26-1-1, 17) in what will be Kimura's first world title bout, and will see Guevara returning to Japan, where he won the title last year.
Today, ahead of that bout, Kimura took part in an opening training session which saw him going through routines in some Cleto Reyes gloves, a stark change for the fighter who usually enjoys wearing the Japanese made Winning gloves. Of course Reyes' are the puncher's gloves and it's though that this may help Guevara deal out damage when the men trade blows.
For Kimura however the gloves don't seem to be an issue with the Japanese fighter insisting today that he was going to use his skills to win. A tough ask given that Guevara is himself a well schooled fighter.
