Earlier today in Japan saw the official weigh for the Teiken promoted card which is set to take place at the Korakuen Hall tomorrow. The main event of that show will see former Japanese Light Flyweight champion Yu Kimura (16-2-1, 3) battle against Mexican visitor Jesus Faro (14-9, 9).
The bout, contracted at 109lbs, saw both men making the weight.
Kimura made the limit dead on, weighing 109lbs. It was the heaviest he's been in 2 years, since he weighed 110lbs in a bout against Tatsuya Fukuhara, and seemed to suggest that whilst he can make 108lbs there was no need to push his body that little bit more to make the divisional weight.
Faro on the other hand was well inside the limit at just 107¾lbs, which we believe is the lightest weight of his career however full weigh recordings aren't available. Whilst he was much leighter he also seemed to be the much shorter man and it's hard to see how he can really test the talented Kimura.
