This coming Friday's promising clash between Yoshihiro Kamegai (25-2-1, 22) and Alfonso Gomez (24-6-2, 12) looks like a potential FOTY candidate on paper. It's a bout that has all the ingredients of a potential instant classic and, given the style of both men, it's almost certainly going to see a lot of leather thrown at close quarters.
Online we've seen fans of both men state their cases with some feeling Gomez's experience is the key to the bout whilst others feel Kamegai's power and toughness will be the difference. Whatever you're opinion you're likely to enjoy the fight.
Interestingly several UK bookies have priced up the bout and they all have Kamegai as the favourite with the Japanese warrior priced at around 4/7 to record the win. Gomez on the other hand is a 13/8 under-dog. For those interested in the draw that has been priced at 20/1 by almost all the bookies who are taking bets on the fight.
Interestingly only one bookie, Paddy Power, is current taking odds on the "method of victory. For those interested here Kamegai by decision is priced at 11/8, and is seen as the most likely outcome. Kamegai by stoppage is 9/4, the same price as Gomez via decision, whilst Gomez by stoppage is given little more than an outside chance and is priced at 6/1
Yoshihiro Kamegai marginally heavier than Alfonso Gomez ahead of Friday nights clash
