Late last night in the US saw the official weigh in for tonight's exciting bout between Japan's popular Yoshihiro Kamegai (26-3-1, 23) [亀海喜寛] and Mexican tough guy Jesus Soto Karass (28-10-3, 18).
The bout, which was made at 154lbs, saw both men making weight with ease.
On the scales Kamegai was 153.4lbs, one of the heaviest weights of his career, whilst Soto Karass was slightly heavier at 153.6lbs, also one of the heaviest of his career. Despite coming in heavier than usual both men were well under the limit.
Interestingly at the weigh in it was Kamegai who looked in the better shape, with Soto Karass looking slightly fleshy. Saying that however both men seemed confident and the bout does seem likely to be a FOTY contender given that both men really do enjoy a brawl.
