The announcements for fights in March just keep coming and the latest of those is that Indonesia's exciting Daud Cino Yordan (32-3-0-1, 23) will return to action on March 28th in an IBO Lightweight title defense.
Yordan, who is on a 2 fight winning streak since being stopped by Simpiwe Vetyeka, hasn't had his opponent announced as of yet though we'd be expecting an IBO ranked fighter who is probably from Asia. This would leave options such as Michael Farenas and Masao Nakamura which would both make for mouth watering match ups.
As Indonesia's premier name Yordan will know that he now carries the hope of his country on his shoulders. Unfortunately with the retirement of Chris John, Yordan is now the only Indonesian fighter known around the world and will know that anything but a win will see Indonesian boxing cast back in to the dark ages.
As most of the details have yet to be announced, even to the fighter himself, Yordan won't be able to tailor his training to his opponent. Thankfully however with his experience and with the fact his brother, Damien, is his trainer Yordan will be able to get some decent preparation in before the fight.
Interestingly Daud is half Chinese, from his father, and "Cino" is the Spanish word for Chinese. This will however be his first fight in China having previously boxed in Indonesia, Singapore, USA, Australia and the Philippines.
We're hoping to get more details on this bout soon.
