There have been a lot of fights over the past few days and sadly that has meant that some of the bouts haven't had the attention, or the time, they've deserved. One such bout occurred in Korea this past weekend and featured rising Korean star Ye Joon Kim (13-1-2, 7) who retained his IBF Asia Super Bantamweight title with a 6th round KO win against Indonesian veteran Angky Angkotta (32-12-1, 18).
This win sees Kim extending his current winning streak to 9 bouts, including one which isn't listed on boxrec, and sees him continue to climb up towards toe world rankings. It's fair to say that Angkotta isn't the fighter he once was however this is still a notable win for the enigmatic Korean fighter.
The bout, held in Jeju, was a contest sanctioned by "renegade faction" the KBF who put on a Korea Vs China Vs Japan show as the under-card. Strangely the under-card results are all, at the time of writing, listed on boxrec whilst this main bout hasn't had the result put up.
