Yesterday fans in Fukuoka had the chance to see world ranked local fighter Takumi Sakae (13-0, 8) in action, and in fact in a small scare, against Munehito Kijima (6-8-1)
The world ranked 22 year old was given the scare early in the contest as he was dropped very early in the bout. It was only a flash knockdown but it was still a worry given that Kijima isn't a puncher.
To his credit Sakae recovered quickly and scored his own knockdown in round 3 before the two men took turns to unleash shots on each other in a barnstorming 8 round bout. Unfortunately for Kijima his efforts weren't rewarded on the cards which had Sakae as a clear winner, despite that he had successes of his own, it just always seemed that Sakae was the better, faster, strong and crisper fighter.
