On paper the most explosive of tomorrow's "Strongest Korakuen" bouts is at Welterweight where former Japanese, OPBF and PABA champion Akinori Watanabe (33-4, 28) takes on the little known Toshio Arikawa (11-4, 9) in a bout to decided the mandatory contender for Suyon Takayama.
The weigh in for this bout was regarded as an important one after Watanabe failed to make weight for his previous bout. Thankfully this time around he came in under the contracted weight, in fact he came well under the weight, weighing between 146¾lbs and 147lbs.
Arikawa on the other hand was just over 146½lbs however despite being the lighter man he was significantly taller at the weigh in and looked liked the man in better shape. He is however the less experienced of the two men and will know that this is likely to be the toughest bout of his career.
