Unbeaten Japanese world champion Tomoki Kameda (29-0, 18) set off for Miami earlier today as he begins his training camp ahead of his much talked about bout with Thailand's Pungluang Sor Singyu (46-2, 31).
The Japanese youngster, the current WBO Bantamweight champion, is preparing for the second defense of his world title though the bout is yet to be fully announced.
What we do know is that Japan has now been completely ruled out as a venue as the on going saga between the Kameda gym and the Japanese Boxing Commission continues. This has meant that the bout will be fought on neutral territory in either Mexico or the USA. The delay in a date is due to the fact that the bout is being out to promoters with the hope that a big one will be happy to accommodate the contest, which does look likely to be a great one.
Although no venue is set we are now expecting that the bout will take place in May.
As with the particulars about the fight we're not 100% certain on Tomoki's camp though we have read that he has rented an apartment and will be self catering. Sadly that's as good as our information is so far.
