The long running saga surrounding Tomoki Kameda's (29-0, 18) mandatory WBO Bantamweight title defence with Thailand's Pungluang Sor Singyu (46-2, 31) has seen yet another change.
The bout was scheduled for May 10th though, due to issues with the local promoter, the bout has now been re-arranged to July 12th. We're hoping that the Kameda's have now found a promoter willing to get behind the bout, a venue, a television deal and, most importantly, we hope that this is the last change.
Sadly with the way this bout has been, which has included 2 cancelled purse bids, various stories about different venues and even TBS claiming they couldn't show the bout, we wouldn't be shocked to see it re-scheduled again or even cancelled. We're not suggest that Tomoki doesn't want to fight his mandatory but the whole bout has had more bumps along the road than most other contests and a full cancellation wouldn't be a surprise right now.
Although it's not been confirmed we would expect to see Tomoki's brother Daiki on the same card. Both men have been in Miami raining recently and it would seem more than plausible that Daiki would be added to the card for his return to the Bantamweight division.
From what we understand the promoter of the show will be Canelo Promotions though few details have been announced.
