Earlier today fans saw Thai youngster Saenganan Sithsaithong (16-0, 7) [แสงอนันต์ ศิษย์ทรายทอง] extend his winning record, and claim the IBF Pan Pacific bantamweight title, with a narrow win against Eric Panza (9-7-1, 2).
The 16 year old Thai was given a real test by his Filipino foe, who will likely feel aggrieved, with all 3 judges scoring the bout 115-113 to Saenganan.
The Thai youngster is regarded by some in the country as one of the more notable prospects, though we do wonder if the fact he keeps moving up in weight is going to be an issue. Less than 18 months ago he was a Light Flyweight and whilst he has developed physically he's not looked like a great force at Bantamweight, thus far.
On the same show fans also saw Olympic champion Manus Boonjumnong (5-0, 3) [มนัส บุญจำนงค์] continue his perfect start to his professional career with a victory over a yet to be confirmed opponent. Manus stopped his foe in the 5th of 8 scheduled rounds.
