Earlier today saw promotional outfit Senrima Kobe announce that their fighter Teiru Kinoshita (25-1-1, 8) [位帝里 木下] would be returning to the ring on January 28th to face former IBF Super Flyweight world champion McJoe Arroyo (17-1, 8) in an IBF world title eliminator.
The bout, set to take place in Puerto Rico, will be Kinoshita's first bout outside of Japan and will see him facing his second notable international opponent, following his 2014 loss in an IBF title fight to the exceptionally talented Zolani Tete. A win over Arroyo would likely secure Kinoshita a second world title fight and would easily be the biggest win of his career.
For Arroyo the bout will be his first since losing the IBF title to Filipino Jerwin Ancajas back in September, when Arroyo failed to get out of first gear and was widely out pointed by the under-rated Filipino. A rematch with Ancajas would likely be Arroyo's reward if he was to come out on top here.
At the moment there is no set venue but that is likely to be revealed in the near future along with possible TV coverage.
