Tomorrow fight fans in Hong Kong will get the chance to see the under-rated Takuya Watanabe (30-7-1, 16) [渡邉 卓也] return to the ring to take on Thai veteran Khunkhiri Wor Wisaruth (24-18-2, 16).
Today those two men took part in their weigh in with both men making 129lbs for the bout.
A solid and strong looking Watanabe sounded very confident at the weight in, and it seems that he is coming in to the bout with a point to prove, following a disappointingly one-sided loss last time out to Masayuki Ito. The bout with Ito saw Watanabe lose the WBO Asia Pacific title, a title he was trying to unify with the OPBF title that Ito held, and it does look like it has fired him up for this coming bout.
For the Thai, who has fought as low as Super Flyweight, there was a huge size difference and it does sort of seem like the Thai has been brought in to suffer his 19th loss. He has been stopped by a host of notable names through his career and it'd be a genuine achievement if he can survive the schedule with a hungry Watanabe here.
