Tomorrow fight fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the chance to see OPBF Featherweight champion Ryo Takenaka (15-3-1, 8) [竹中 良] defending his title against Ryuto Araya (11-4-1,3) [荒谷 龍人], in what will be the champion's third defense of the title.
Today, ahead of their bout, the two men took part in their weigh in, and both men came in fit and ready.
On the scales the champion at dead on the limit of 126lbs, and he looked very confident and self assured, as he should do given recent performances. For the champion a win tomorrow could, potentially, open the door for him to move closer to a world title fight.
As for Araya, a first time title challenger, he was under the limit by around ½lb though looked in good shape, and like Takenaka, he looked confident of picking up the win. Whilst the challenger is the clear under-dog here he will know that a win could make him a sought after opponent with the OPBF title being a big achivement for fighters in the Oriental region.
