Yesterday Japanese fight fans were busy to say the least. Among the many things that went on were the medical checks for the world title fights in Osaka on December 31st.
One of those title bouts will see IBF Minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama (30-7-0-1, 12) defending his title against Mexican challenger Jose Argumedo (15-3-1, 9).
At the medical it was discovered that Argumedo was the naturally bigger fighter, not a huge shock but his reach was larger than we had expected, with almost a 5cm (2") advantage over the champion.
The challenger not only boasts a reach advantage but is actually bigger in all 4 areas that we have been sent the measurements for suggesting that he's a man who has boiled down to make the weight. Not only has he boiled down but he did look in incredible shape, ripped to the gills.
We hope to have the weigh in details later today though we're expecting both to make weight with Arguemedo putting more weight on in the morning of the fight.
