Former WBA Super Featherweight "Super" champion Takashi Uchiyama (24-2-1, 20) [内山 高志] continued a bit of a tradition today as he took part in a e-Tax event, encouraging people in the Saitama prefecture to fill in their tax returns online.
By it's self that's a boring story, we know that, but the interesting thing occured when he was asked about his boxing future at the event.
The popular "KO Dynamite" stated that he still hadn't decided on his future, but that he would he was feeling like he wanted to fight again having seen some other people fight recently. He stated that he was set to start sparring soon and would decide after that, as it would give him a chance to get a read on his reflexes and timings and such things.
As well as the sparring Uchiyama also stated that he wanted to assess how far he could go if he continues in the sport. It seems that the veteran has decided that if he can't compete at the highest level he'll decide to walk away from the ring, with rumours being that he willkeep involved in the sport in other capacities, such as training, gym work and media work.
