Tomorrow Japanese fans will get the chance to see former WBC Super Featherweight champion Takashi Miura (29-3-2, 22) [三浦 隆司] return to the ring to face off against Filipino Jimmy Borbon (5-1-2, 3), a late fill in for compatriot Jonel Gadapan (11-8-2, 7).
Today on the scales Miura was 133lbs, his heaviest since a 2012 win over Ryuji Migaki. The all action "Bomber" will be fighting for the first time since his loss, last year, to Francisco Vargas in the 2015 FOTY candidate.
Borbon was 132¼lbs on the scales, lighter thasn he had been in his last two bouts, but his third highest career weight. Although less well known than the local star it should be noted that the Filipino has been unbeaten following a decision loss on his debut.
