This coming Friday night will see Japanese fighter Takahiro Ao (27-3-1, 12) attempt to become the third Japanese fighter to become a 3-weight world champion as he battles the tough Raymundo Beltran (29-7-1, 17) for the WBO Lightweight title. The odds however are against "Super Taka" who is seen as a very clear under-dog by the British bookies.
At the moment Ao is priced at 10/3 for the win whilst Beltran is best priced at 2/7 making the Mexican a very clear betting favourite.
As for Method of victory the most likely is viewed as being Beltran by decision at 5/6. The odds of Beltran becoming the first man to stop the Japanese fighter are 3/1, showing respect to Ao's toughness. For Ao to take a decision the best odds are 5/1 whilst Ao stopping Beltran is viewed as being highly unlikely and is priced at 12/1. The draw can be had at 22/1.
Given that both men are tough the bout is expected to go the schedule with the odds being 2/5 on the bout going the full 12 rounds whilst the odds are 7/4 on it ending early.
