Although there is a lot of excitement about today's card in Japan there is also a lot of excitement about the bouts coming up tomorrow. Ahead of those bouts the men all took part in their weigh ins.
One of the bouts which had it's weigh in earlier today was the WBA Light Flyweight bout which will see champion Ryoichi Taguchi (25-2-1, 11) [田口良一] defending his title against Carlos Canizales (16-0, 13).
On the scales this morning the champion came in at around 107.5lbs, looking in great shape whilst towering over his challenger who was noticably smaller. Despite being huge for the weight Taguchi does seem to be a very comfortable Light Flyweight who will move up when he wants if he wants.
The challenger looked like a man who was moving up from Minimumweight and made the limit with a lot of room to spare,in fact he was just under 106.5lbs at the weigh in and looked like a fighter who was in great shape but still very small for one of boxing's lightest weight classes.
Taguchi takes on unbeaten Canizales!
