On December 31st we'll see WBA Flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka (20-1, 12) [井岡一翔] making his next defence, and taking on interim champion Stamp Kiatniwat (15-0, 6) [แสตมป์ กระทิงแดงยิม], a Thai teenager who has shown a lot of promise but is stepping up massivel here.
Today, ahead of that bout Stamp took part in a public work out alongside form world champion Denkaosan Kaovichit, who seemed to be there as both a trainer and a mentor having fought in Japan numerous times during his long career. Although now a long way from his primse it seems the hope is for Stamp to learn from Denkaosan's experience of both title fights and fights in Japan.
The practice session saw the Thai doing several rounds of shadow boxing, mitt work and some in ring work with Denakaosan. Despite looking sharp in the session he did look slightly heavy at the work out and some questions have been raised about his ability to make 112lbs and be in top condition.
Althoyugh a huge under-dog Stamp has sounded confident and the belief seems to be that he has the power to KO Ioka, a result that would be a massive surprise if it happens on New Year's Eve.
Kazuto Ioka continues a tradition as he looks to Stamp on Kiatniwat!
