Earlier today at the Korakuen Hall exciting Japanese Lightweight contender Shuhei Tsuchiya (20-4, 17) [土屋 修平] blew away Thai novice Ekarachan Mor Krungthep Thomburee (0-1).
Tsuchiya, the #2 ranked Japanese Lightweight, started fast and landed a left hook early that sent the Thai down. Ekarachan got to his feet but wasn't upright long as he was quickly sent down for a second time, and then a third time. With the referee stopping the bout immediately after that third knockdown.
In total it took Tsuchiya just 151 seconds to see off the Thai, who simply couldn't take his power.
For Tsuchiya this was a 4th straight win and it seems his career is back on track following a 2-4 run in 2013-2014. He's looking to continue that run later this year and called out recently crowned Japanese Lightweight champion Nihito Arakawa, becoming the second man in recent days to challenge Arakawa who appears to be a wanted man now that he has the Japanese title.
