Earlier today in South Korea fans saw a new IBF Asia Super Featherweight champion being crowned as the exciting Shingo Eto (15-3-1, 9), a former Japanese Super Featherweight title challenger, over-came former OPBF Featherweight title challenger Maxsaisai Sithsaithong (15-7, 4).
The bout was one of 3 IBF title bouts on the South Korean show that saw Japanese fighters fighting against Thai opposition. It was, like the other, won by the Japanese fighter. Unlike the other bouts however this one went the distance with Eto going 12 rounds for the first time in his career. Although Eto went the distance he was the clear winning with score cards of 120-109, 119-110 and 118-108 all going in his favour.
Although Eto was beaten last time out, losing a close decision to Rikki Naito, he'll have taken a lot of confidence from his performance. That confidence was on show here as he easily out boxed Maxsaisai who is best known for his 8th round stoppage to Hisashi Amagasa last year, in an OPBF Featherweight title bout, and his 10 round decision loss to AJ Banal.
