Earlier today it was announced that former OPBF Light Flyweight champion Shin Ono (18-7-2, 2) [小野 心] would be making his ring return on April 24th, in Thailand.
The bout will be Ono's first since suffering a 7th round loss last September to Kenichi Horikawa in a Japanese Light Flyweight title fight. That was Ono's third stoppage loss and, potentially, ended his chances of getting another major fight before his career is over.
Sadly we've not yet got the name of his Thai opponent, though we do know that the 33 year old Japanese veteran will be fighting outside of Japan for the first time. So far his career has mostly seen him fighting in Tokyo, though he is best known by many fans for his 2014 world title fight with Katsunari Takayama, a bout that took place in Osaka.
Sadly details in regards to TV, as well as Ono's opponent, are scarce though hopefully the bout will be televised on Thai television.
