Earlier today in Tokyo saw the weigh in for tomorrow's Japanese Featherweight title bout between reigning champion Satoshi Hosono (26-2-1, 20) and Rikiya Fukuhara (30-7-1, 22). The bout, a rematch of a contest fought back in 2012, will see Fukuhara attempting to claim a 2nd national title, having previously been the Japanese Super Bantamweight champion, and will see Hosono attempting to record his 2nd defense of his 2nd reign.
On the scales both men made the weight some wiggle room. Both were were 57.1KG, around 1/8th of a lb under the divisional limit.
For both men this is a key fight. The 36 year old Fukuhara likely won't get another title opportunity if he loses here. Whilst Hosono needs a win to remain in the hunt for a possible world title, something that has eluded him despite 3 world title bouts. The stakes are high, both men are confident and given the power both fighters bring to the ring this one promises a lot, les just hope they deliver.
