It's been announced that the rebuilding of the Korean boxing scene will continue in November and on November 7th there appears to be a very interesting card at the Ramada Hotel in the Korean capital of Seoul.
The headline bout is an international Featherweight contest between Korean Featherweight champion Bong-Joon Suk (7-1-2, 2) and Filipino veteran Jaime Barcelona (38-56-1, 10). The bout, scheduled for 10 rounds, is being sold as an IBF Asia Pacific Contender bout but in reality it's just an interesting 10 rounder between an interesting Korean hopeful and a very experienced Filipino fighter.
The co-feature will be a Korean Lightweight title fight between Sa Ya Lee (5-2, 3) and #4 ranked challenger Sung Tae Kim (5-9-1, 2). For Lee this will be his first defense since winning the title in April with a 10th round stoppage of Sang-Joon Park whilst for Kim it's a big opportunity for him to claim a title.
Although the show hasn't yet been full confirmed the feeling is that the bouts are as close to confirmed as they should be and that all the scheduled fighters will be in action as planned, giving Korean fans at least 2 shows of note in November alongside the November 9th card headlined by a WBC Youth title fight between Korean title holder Ye Joon Kim and Japanese challenger Yoshiyuki Takabayashi.
