It's fair to say this coming weekend is an exciting one for Japanese fight fans, with a world title double header in Osaka. It does however pale in comparison to May 20th/21st where there will 6 world title fights in Japan, 5 of which are set to take place in Tokyo.
One of those bouts, in fact probably the most notable, is a WBA Middleweight title bout between Ryota Murata (12-0, 9) [村田 諒太] and Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (35-2, 21) set to take place on May 20th.
Today Murata took part in a prolonged spar sharing ring time with both Patrick Day (13-2-1, 6) and Steven Martinez (17-3, 13), who were used to replicate N'Dam's style and speed, as well as regular sparring partner Adrian Luna Flores (20-4-1, 13).
Although neither Martinez or Day quite match up to N'Dam it's clear that both fighters do replicate certain parts of N'Dam's skillset, with Day have been previously been used as a sparring partner for David Lemieux ahead of his bout with N'Dam.
Interesting we've also been informed that N'Dam won't be the only Frenchman on the May 20th show, with the unbeaten Dylan Charrat (11-0, 2) also set to feature in a 6 rounder.
