Over this coming weekend Japanese Olympic champion Ryota Murata's (10-0, 7) [村田 諒太] will be in the US as part of a bumper Bob Arum under-card, where he will be up against the highly experienced George Tahdooahnippah (34-2-3-2, 24). The bout is Murata's second in the US and his third bout this year as he looks to impress Bob Arum and move towards a potential world title fight in 2017.
The unbeaten Murata is a clear betting favourite this weekend with some bookies pricing the Olympic gold medal winner at 1/50 to over-come Tahdooahnippah, however he is available, best priced, at around 1/14. Sadly this won't make anyone rich and won't be the best invest but it does show the bookies belief in Murata who is regarded as a promising, yet flawed, fighter.
As for Tahdooahnippah he's available to be backed at between 10/1 and 14/1. For those viewing the upset as plausible this might be a really tempting market to go with the under-dog. Albeit he would need one of the biggest upsets of the year to over-come the Japanese fighter
For fight fans interested in watching this bout in Murata's homeland of Japan, it will be shown on Fuji TV over the weekend, on Sunday night/Monday morning at 26:05-27:05 Sunday, or 2:05-3:05 on Monday morning depending on how you read the times.
