On September 6th Japanese fans in Toyama will get the chance to see former WBA interim Minimumweight champion Juan Jose Landaeta (26-8-1, 20) in action as he headlines the next Toyama promotions card.
Ahead of Landaeta's bout in September he has been staying and staying in great shape with some top level sparring. That was seen this past Tuesday when he sparred a couple of rounds with current WBA Light Flyweight champion Ryoichi Taguchi (22-2-1, 9).
The sparring likely helped both men with Taguchi learning something from spending time in the ring with the Venezuelan veteran whilst Landaeta himself will have had to work hard to keep up with the speed and variation of the 28 year old reigning world champion.
At the moment we're unsure who Landaeta will be facing though we'd hope they will make for a good fight with the 36 year old who is now aligned with the Toyama gym in Japan. As for Taguchi we're hoping to hear an announcement about the second defense of his world title in the coming weeks.
