Yesterday in Osaka Japanese fans saw the Rookie of the West finals, which decided the West representatives for the 2015 Rookie of the Year finals, which will take place in December,
In total 12 fighters progress, though only 11 bouts took place. The one man who didn't fight was Super Flyweight Taiyo Inoue (4-1, 3) who progressed after his opponent failed to make weight for their contest.
The men who qualified after winning bouts were-
Ryusei Kitamura (6-1, 1) [Minmumweight]
Seigo Yuri Akui (5-0-1, 2) [Light Flyweight]
Masahiro Sakamoto (5-0, 3) [Flyweight]
Tenta Kiyose (7-1-1, 1) [Bantamweight]
Takaaki Kana (6-4, 3) [Super Bantamweight]
Shuma Nakazato (5-0, 4) [Featherwieght]
Natoshi Nakatani (7-0, 5) [Super Featherweight]
Tomoaki Matsumura (6-0, 4) [Lightwight]
Mitsuyoshi Fujita (7-2, 3) [Light Welterweight]
Giraffe Kirin Kanda (6-1, 3) [Welterweight]
Brandon Lockhart Shane (6-3, 5) [Middleweight]
Three of the fighters also won extra awards. Nakazato won the Skills award, Matsumuta won the MVP award and Kiyose won the fighting Spirit award.
