We are incredibly sad to hear of the passing of Australian Brayd Smith (12-1, 10) the popular and exciting 23 year old who has unfortunately passed away following his loss this past weekend to John Vincent Moralde (12-0, 6).
The popular Australian fighter was an exciting fighter in the ring, a classy young man out of it and the son of popular trainer Brendon Smith, a man who has worked with a who's who of boxing in the Pacific region.
Although not a big name fighter he really did have the world at feet. Not only was he a talented and rising boxer but out side of the ring he seemed ready for a promising career in law, being just months away from gaining a law degree.
We would like to send our condolences to Brayd's family and friends and our wishes also go out to Mr Moralde, who is only a young kid himself. We hope the rest of the boxing community can do the same and give their thoughts to Brayd and his family as well as Mr Moralde.
RIP Brayd Smith.
