The OPBF website may be out of date but we have learned that they organisation has updated their rankings recently and one of the most notable additions to those rankings is Japanese youngster Riku Kano (8-1-1, 4) [加納陸], who is now ranked #12 at Light Flyweight.
Kano's ranking is, in part at least, due to his recent victory over former world title challenger Pigmy Kokietgym, a win that was scored in late 2015.
The ranking with the OPBF opens up two potential doors for Kano who could look at either claiming a domestic title or an OPBF title later in the year, though we suspect that he'd drop down to Minimumweight for an OPBF title fight as current OPBF champion Jonathan Taconing would likely be too much for the 18 year old to handle at the moment.
Another notable new addition to the OPBF rankings is Kazuki Tanaka (4-0, 3) [田中一樹], who has been ranked #11 at Super Bantamweight. The talented 23 year old has seen his OPBF ranking come about after an excellent win in December against Monico Laurente.
