Yesterday we reported that big punching American Randall Bailey (45-8-0-1, 38) would be facing off against Filipino veteran Joel De La Cruz (19-23-3, 7) on October 4th in Korea. It now seems that Cruz has been replaced and that Bailey now has a more significant bout, albeit on the same card.
The bout with De La Cruz was listed as a non-title bout, just a typical 10 round bout. Now however the American puncher will be fighting for a title, the WBO Asia Pacific Welterweight crown, as he takes on Japan's Shusaku Fujinaka (12-5-2, 8).
On paper this is a significantly better match up than the contest with Cruz, and one that may prove to be interesting when the men get in the ring for their bout.
Fujinaka isn't a great fighter though has mixed with the likes of Koshinmaru Saito and Kengo Nagashima. He is a fully fledged Welterweight and 28 years old is just coming into his prime. Sadly however he has been stopped twice by lesser punches than Bailey.
At the moment the Bailey bout is the only one to have changed since the KBC first put up a bout list for the show.
