Earlier today we were informed that WBC Youth Light Middleweight champion Petchsuriya Singwancha (12-9, 6) would be returning to Japan on March 29th to defend his title for the second time since winning it way back in November 2013.
For the Thai fighter this will be his 6th bout in Japan. His first bout in the country was his debut, back in May 2010 when he lost a Super Featherweight bout to Ryusei Yoshida in just 38 seconds. The loss to Yoshida was a painful start to Petchsuriya's career which went 0-4 to begin. Despite the forgettable start to his career Petchsuriya has won 7 of his last 8, including his title winning effort in November '13, against Yang Xing Xin, and his sole defense, in July last year against Ryosuke Maruki. Incidentally the win over over Maruki is Petchsuriya's only win in Japan and sadly he did lose, convincingly, last time he was fighting in the country. That loss was at Middleweight where he was dominated by Koki Tyson Maebara and eventually stopped in the 4th round.
Unfortunately we've not been told who the Thai will be fighting nor have we been told about the venue of the bout though we do hope to get those details shortly.
