Later today we'll see Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38) return to the ring as he takes on WBO Welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (27-1, 10) in the main event of a blockbuster card from Las Vegas. Whether you're a fan of the bout or not, and we know a lot aren't, it's still big news and will be aired right across the globe on various platforms.
Last night the two men took part in their weigh in and both men made weight, albeit in very different ways with Pacquiao coming in way under the limit and being dwarfed by Vargas.
On the scales Pacquiao was 144¾lbs, more than 2lbs under the limit. It was Pacquiao's lightest weight since his November 2014 bout against Chris Algieri, when he was 1lb lighter. Interestingly Pacquiao has never officially won a bout whilst weighing in at 147lbs, going 0-2 in those bouts.
Vargas, despite looking huge in comparison to Pacquiao, also didn't push the scales close to the limit, weighing in at 146½lbs, the same as he did in last year's loss to Timothy Bradley. Although now a fully fledged Welterweight Vargas spent much of his career at Light Welterweight, but it seems that he has grown into a big Welterweight and he really did look a division or two bigger than the Filipino.
