We'll admit we're not too fussed about the November 5th bout between Manny Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38) and WBO Welterweight champion Jessie Vargas (27-1, 10). Lets be honest it was in very fight fans list of fights they wanted, and whilst it'll be nice to see Pacquiao back in the ring we can't help but think their would have been more interesting opponents for the Pacman, what do you think Bud?
However it seems Bob Arum is aware the bout won't be a huge draw and is stacking the under-card with fighters who could draw some attention to the show. OVer the past two days we've heard about Zou Shiming (8-1, 2) [邹市明] being on the card, possibly in a WBO world title bout against Kwanpichit Onesongchaigym (38-1-2, 22) [ขวัญพิชิต 13เหรียญเอ็กซ์เพลส], which should help the card draw in impressive figures in China and also get the show some attention in Thailand.
Now it's also being confirmed that multi-weight world champion Nonito Donaire (37-3, 24) will be defending his WBO World Super Bantamweight title against the unbeaten Jessie Magdaleno (23-0, 17).
The bout will be Donaire's second defense of the title he won last year, when he over-came Cesar Juarez in a FOTY contender, and follows on from the farcical mismatch against Zsolt Bedak, a bout the WBO should have been ashamed of sanctioning whilst Magdaleno will be getting his first title fight.
The bout is a really interesting one and may well be the best on the card, though we wouldn't be surprised by at least one more bout of note being added to the show in the coming weeks.
