At the moment one UK/Irish bookmaker, Paddy Power, is currently taking bets on the upcoming WBA Featherweight Super title fight between Filipino sensation Nonito Donaire (33-2, 21) and the unbeaten Jamaican puncher Nicholas Walters (24-0, 20) and they have the bout as a very tough one to call.
The bookies surprisingly make the lesser established Walters the favourite to win the contest at 5/6 whilst Donaire, a man who has won titles from Flyweight all the way up to Featherweight, is priced at Evens and the draw is 22/1.
Sadly they currently only have the "to win" market.
Although we suspect those odds could change, and that more bookies will join the party so to speak, it's great to see a bout so evenly made on the bookies. At the end of the day we watch this sport for competitive and interesting bouts and you can't get much more competitive on paper than a bout that the bookies cannot split. Well done to both for signing up to this one and we, just like the bookies, are at a loss as to picking a winner.
