In an interesting story from the Philippines we've been informed that Nonito Donaire (33-3, 21) has been sparring with Japan's Ryo Akaho (25-1-2, 17) ahead of their big bouts later this month.
The two men, who both fight on March 28th, were said to have had a very competitive and fulfilling spar which will have helped both men tune up for their bouts and helped Akaho acclimatize to Filipino conditions.
On March 28th we will see Donaire make his comeback following his stoppage loss to Nicholas Walters last year. This comeback bout will see Donaire battle against Brazilian William Prado (22-4-1, 15) in a bout for the vacant NABF Super Bantamweight title. On the other hand Akaho will be fighting Prospect Ankrah (24-4, 15) for the WBO International Bantamweight title.
Both the Donaire and Akaho bouts will be joined by a WBO Light Flyweight title bout, which will see defending champion Donnie Nietes (34-1-4, 20) take on Mexican banger Gilberto Parra (19-2, 17).
For those wondering, the video on the left has been put out Akaho's promoter Yokohama Hikari boxing gym, as a hype video for Akaho's bout with Ankrah.
