Popular former Japanese fighter Nobuhiro Ishida [石田 順裕] retired last from professional boxing and opened a gym in Osaka.
Originally the gym was only open to those looking for a place to get fit and for amateur fighters looking to hone their skills. Today however it was announced that Ishida's gym was now open for professional fighters looking to join his gym and fight under his gym's banner.
The gym officially became part of the JPBA on November 8th. At the moment there isn't any professional's currently at the gym but there are 5 fighters looking to turn professional in the near future, with the first of those being a Heavyweight who will take part in their protest in December. The plan then is for others to take part in their protest bouts in Spring.
The gym, the Neyagawa Ishida Boxing Club, also has plans to send fighters to the US to train in the near future, following in the footsteps of Ishida himself, who trained in the US as well as Japan during his memorable career.
