Tomorrow fans in Japan get a very interesting OPBF Middleweight title bout as champion Hikaru Nishida (15-7-1, 7) [西田 光] faced unbeaten Australian challenger Dwight Ritchie (13-0-0-4, 1). The bout will be Nishida's first defense, and the first bout at this level for Ritchie.
At the weigh in both men looked in incredible condition and both seemed very confident though it was interesting to note that Nishida was the heavier man with Ritchie coming in around 158.5lbs, well under the divisional limit, whilst Nishida was pretty on the button, around 160lbs.
Although both were confident it did seem like Nishida got the mental advantage over Ritchie and will be the home fighter at tomorrow's bout, giving him another, perhaps pivotal, advantage.
