Earlier today saw Ohashi gym hold a press conference to announce that their two world champions, WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (12-0, 10) [井上 尚弥] and IBF Light Flyweight title champion Akira Yaegashi (25-5, 13) [八重樫 東], were set to return to the gym for full training.
At the moment details of their next bouts are unclear, but we do know something, which were confirmed today at the press conference.
We know that Yaegashi's next bout will be against Filipino fighter Milan Melindo (35-2, 12), who is Yaegashi's mandatory and the current IBF interim champion. Although it doesn't seem a date has been set it looks like Mr Ohashi is going to try and secure that bout for the same card as Inoue's ring return.
As for Inoue we know that his ring return will be either in late April or early May, with the fighter continuing to fight during the "Golden Week" where a lot of Japanese peopleare off work due to a string of national holidays.
It seems like no opponent has been signed for Inoue but Mr Ohashi made it clear they were looking at big names for the fight. They mentioned Roman Gonzalez and Carlos Cuadras, but did accept that both of those men had other bouts lined up and probbaly won't be available for the "Golden Week".
