Earlier today saw the weigh in for the WBA female Super Flyweight world title bout between Naoko Fujioka (11-0, 6) and Tomoko Kawanishi (9-1, 4). Both fighters made the 115lbs weight limit though looked drastically different on the scales.
Fujioka, the defending champion, looked in solid form and as if she came in around her walking weight. There looked to have been little in terms of draining to make the weight though she was notably shorter than her challenger who looked somewhat drained and as if she had put in a lot of effort to make the weight.
Whilst we don't think either fighter actually struggled making weight it seems clear that Fujioka was more comfortable with the limit. Coming to the ring tomorrow however the big question is whether the champion will be comfortable with the height and reach advantage of the challenger who has been described as a very dangerous opponent for the unbeaten and highly skilled Fujioka.
